It was much warmer this morning for my run but quite windy on my way back! I did my 6 miles with the beautiful sunrise and chirping birds. I love these mornings!! While I was running I took some pics. They look pretty good considering I was in motion!
When I returned I had another socially distant coffee date with my cousin Cortnee! We really miss each other. It is quite interesting having conversation over 10 feet apart. We are extra cautious. She sat in the driveway in her folding camp chair and I sat on the porch. It is always nice to catch up in person!
The kids and I searched through Aaron’s wish list on Target and finally ordered the stuff for curbside pickup. He will be blessed! In the afternoon the girls must have been pretty bored because they took the landline phone out to the playhouse and prank called me over…and over…and over! First they called with a pizza delivery for Aaron, then a reader of my blog and then to place an order at Burger King and then finally it was the police letting me know that my husband had broken into an app that gives bad life advice and he needs to go to jail haha! After this they started calling Aaron’s phone thankfully:)
Most of the afternoon we enjoyed the beautiful weather. Of course we took a walk and then the kids had a picnic on the front lawn, they rode their bikes and then we all worked together to put the trampoline together. Needless to say they were ecstatic! We also had a couple more grocery deliveries so we spent a good amount of time sanitizing. It really was a chill and mostly uneventful day.
Final thoughts and challenge: This evening I drove for the first time in a couple of weeks! I went to Target to have them bring the things I ordered for Aaron to the car. On my way the sun was so big and beautiful as it set. I am not sure I have ever seen it so big. I snapped a picture but it does it no justice. Something I noticed since being home for so long is the natural beauty of the earth, of God’s creation. There has not been a day that I have not appreciated something outside. I think this has a lot to do with the fact that I have been forced to slow down and “stop and smell the roses”. I am really thankful for these moments and so thankful that spring is here to bring new life during this dark time.
Have you been able to slow down and notice God’s beautiful creation? Next time you walk outside take a look around. See what you find that is pleasing to your heart! It’s so helpful during this time.
